ARTIST SHOWCASE Adrianna Vanderstelt at “Art of Food and Wine” Epcot International Food & Wine Festival - Join the Event!
ARTIST BIO: Adrianna Vanderstelt
Adrianna is a commercial artist who has done work with Star Wars Topps trading cards and is also working with Acme Archives on officially licensed Disney and DreamWorks titles.
“My strongest influence would be my dad, Jerry Vanderstelt. I grew up watching him creating numerous concepts and paintings. Sometimes I would just sit in his studio while he was painting and just watch the creative process. In doing that, I was able to pick up some techniques and skills while developing my own style. I’ve been taught that you’re never done learning; always discovering new skills and techniques, which I think is exciting!”
“I’ve always loved the “painterly” look, where you can feel the texture on the piece of art. So I use more traditional brush work to bring in those textures and brush strokes. Then, to complement the brush work, I add my touches of airbrushing. I do love working with acrylics. I am always keeping my eyes open to new ideas and techniques such as digital art as well as mixed media… I love to play with a little more textures but follow the rules of lighting and shadowing and such. I think animation is exciting to take to canvas. There are so many endless possibilities! “
New Artwork, “With a Cherry on Top,” will be debuting at “Art of Food and Wine,” but will also be available online at www.acmearchivesdirect.com as of Sept. 22, 2014
